In my work, surface, form, texture, and color create emotional statements. I use a Pure Colorist approach and linear perspective design. I paint in a variety of forms from stylized representational paintings to abstractions and hybrids in between. My greatest challenge is achieving a total configuration where all the parts support the whole.
Since I moved from Kobe, Japan to Seattle in 1986, my passion for Fine Art has flourished. In Japan I was a professional musician. After Moving to America I began Painting and studied portrait, landscapes, colors, and composition. Currently I paint imaginary landscapes, as well as abstractions. I consider my landscapes to be personal "mindscapes", inspired by local hikes in Seattle's surrounding mountains and from my everyday experiences here in Seattle.
Fine Art helps our lives to be more bearable. In this same way, I aim to make paintings that offer others a way to experience their own inner beauty, joy, and child-like peaceful innocence.
